The Official Home of Legends League Cricket

Legends League Cricket is a franchise-based T20 tournament designed exclusively for retired international cricketers. Since its launch in 2022, the league has given fans the rare opportunity to watch legends of the game, players who once ruled the international stage, compete again at a high level.

The 2026 edition is the most ambitious yet, spreading across Haldwani, Coimbatore, Amritsar, and Gwalior. These cities give cricket fans in smaller markets a front-row seat to watch icons they grew up watching. The six franchises spent a combined INR 30.56 crore at the player auction, underlining the serious investment and competitive intent behind this edition.

Star names like Chris Gayle, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Aaron Finch, and Irfan Pathan headline the squads. Southern Super Stars enter as defending champions after their dramatic Super Over victory in the 2024 final in Srinagar.

India’s Premier Legends Cricket Tournament

Legends League Cricket has firmly established itself as one of India’s most entertaining T20 properties. In just a few years, it has grown from a small-format tournament in Oman to a nationwide league drawing massive crowds and passionate viewership.

The 2026 season marks its largest geographical footprint ever, with four host cities and plans that originally included seven venues and an international leg in Sharjah or Doha.

The league holds a unique place in cricket culture. It is the only tournament where fans can watch multiple generations of international cricket greatness compete side by side.

With six powerhouse franchises and squads packed with household names, LLC 2026 is set to be the biggest chapter in the league’s short but remarkable history.

History of Legends League Cricket

Legends League Cricket was founded with a simple but brilliant idea: give retired cricket stars a competitive platform and give fans one more chance to watch them play. The first edition launched in 2022 in Oman, where World Giants, captained by Jacques Kallis, defeated Asia Lions by 27 runs to claim the inaugural title.

Later that same year, a second edition was held in India, with India Capitals, led by Gautam Gambhir, winning by a dominant 104 runs. The league expanded rapidly from there. The 2023 season produced two more champions: Asia Lions in the Masters edition in Doha and Manipal Tigers in the main season in Visakhapatnam.

The 2024 edition delivered arguably the most dramatic final in LLC history, with Southern Super Stars beating Konark Suryas Odisha in a Super Over in Srinagar. Now in 2026, the league enters its next chapter with six teams, a wider reach, and greater ambition than ever before.

Why Legends League Cricket Matters

LLC is more than just nostalgia. It gives retired cricketers a structured, competitive environment to stay connected to the sport they love.

For fans, it is a rare chance to see two generations of legends, from Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir to Chris Gayle and Harbhajan Singh, competing in live match conditions rather than just exhibition games.

Beyond the entertainment, LLC plays a role in keeping cricket culture alive in cities that rarely host top-level cricket. Venues like Haldwani, Coimbatore, Amritsar, and Gwalior give local fans direct access to international-calibre talent.

The league also keeps retired stars physically active and engaged in the sport, which has broader benefits for cricket coaching, mentorship, and grassroots development.
